King’s College School Wimbledon was founded in 1829 and is one of the leading academic schools in the UK. In 2013, the British architectural firm Hopkins Architects began designing the revitalization of the school. The aim was to express the importance of music at King’s College School Wimbledon.
GLULAM HYBRID
The resulting center and architectural highlight is the new concert hall. Glulam with a hybrid beam structure was used here. The core is made of spruce, with a top layer of American white oak creating a particularly elegant and unique surface.
