Currently, NSW Government is transforming the venue into one of Sydney’s premier cultural and event spaces. Designed by fjcstudio (formerly FJMT Studio), this state-of-the-art facility will host exhibitions, festivals, installations, and other major events, becoming a focal point for Sydney’s cultural life. The fit-out, led by FDC Construction, spans three levels and includes event and gallery spaces, a dedicated First Nations education center, back-of-house facilities, and office amenities. - [Cibao International Airport](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/cibao-international-airport/): The new terminal at Cibao International Airport in the Dominican Republic forms part of a major expansion project designed to boost capacity and improve the passenger experience. The architectural concept by Luis Vidal + Architects is characterised by a continuous roof landscape which translates the surrounding topography into a fluid, freeform structure. - [Innovation Campus Billund](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/innovation-campus-billund/): In Billund, Denmark, the Innovation Campus is a multi-storey office building in timber construction with impressive dimensions: On an area of 50,000 m², various areas for around 1,700 employees are being created in six overlapping modules with up to four floors. The building ensemble includes offices, play zones, atriums and a central PlayWay, which connects the individual areas and promotes interaction. Green spaces and the targeted entry of daylight create an optimal working atmosphere. - [Adelaide Aquatic Centre](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/adelaide-aquatic-center/): The Adelaide Aquatic Centre is scheduled for completion by the end of 2025 and will set new standards for sustainable leisure and sports facilities in Australia. The Aquatic Centre will offer a wide range of facilities, including a 50-meter indoor pool, a 25-meter outdoor pool, rehabilitation pools, play areas and fitness and wellness zones. Accessibility and inclusion are at the heart of the design. The project not only impresses with its comprehensive facilities for end users, but also with its innovative design and the use of sustainable materials. Wood was chosen as the building material for the supporting structure, with a total of around 324 m³ of Glulam, 108 m³ of Cross laminated timber (CLT) and around 3,130 m² of prefabricated acoustic ceiling modules being used. - [Cambridge South Railway Station](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/cambridge-south-railway-station/): A new railway station has been built in Cambridge to meet the continuously growing demand for rail transport. Cambridge Railway Station connects the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and the neighbouring town of Trumpington to the existing network and serves around 1.8 million passengers annually. Since entering operation on 28 June 2026, the station has been serving passengers as intended. The design focused on sustainability and user-friendliness. Timber was chosen as the primary construction material for the station building and the platform canopies. Due to the exposed location, weather-resistant larch timber was used. - [Bunjil Place](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/bunjil-place/): In 2017, a new inner-city cultural and leisure center was built in the City of Casey, Greater Melbourne, with the construction of Bunjil Place according to the plans of the Australian architecture firm FJMT. The main feature of the ensemble is the striking timber construction of the atrium, which can already be seen from the outside. The up to 12 m high glass façade separates the inner area from the outer area. The free-form, three-dimensional timber construction consists of 166 m³ of glulam. HESS TIMBER was responsible for the planning, component production and delivery of the free-form glulam components as well as the assembly supervision. (supervisor) of the timber construction. - [Trehus, One Maidenhead](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/trehus-one-maidenhead/): Trehus is the first timber office building of its kind in the Southeast of England and forms part of the One Maidenhead masterplan developed by HUB and Smedvig. Covering around 6,000 m² (65,000 sq ft), it will provide Grade A office space built to the highest sustainability standards. The name Trehus – Norwegian for House of Wood – reflects the consistent use of timber as the building’s primary construction material. Compared to a conventional steel-frame structure, this approach significantly improves the building’s overall carbon footprint. - [Ede-Wageningen Train Station](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/ede-wageningen-train-station/): A new station with a striking wooden roof was built in the Dutch town of Ede. In view of increasing passenger numbers, the municipality of Ede and ProRail decided to expand the existing station back in 2008. The aim was to create a modern station that combines functionality, safety and sustainability. - [Bosch Denmark HQ Ballerup](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/bosch-denmark-hq-ballerup/): A new headquarters for Bosch Denmark is being built in Ballerup near Copenhagen by NCC. The three-storey building covers around 10,725 m² of gross floor space and combines workplaces, training areas and representative areas. The new building is based on a hybrid timber construction. Glulam forms the primary supporting structure and remains largely visible, while concrete is used where bracing and sound insulation are required. - [FRANKLIN Grüne Mitte](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/franklin-gruene-mitte/): With the "Grüne Mitte" on the Franklin site in Mannheim, a new, lively district center is being created in the heart of one of Germany's largest urban development areas. The ensemble combines modern commercial and restaurant spaces with high-quality residential areas and an intensively greened roofscape - a central meeting place for the newly emerging district. The design by Dutch architects MVRDV in collaboration with Frankfurt architects schneider+schumacher envisages a striking building form with two structures rising above a shared underground garage and separated by a traffic-free axis. The architectural idea of the "green center" - a green, publicly accessible roof garden - not only characterizes the external appearance, but also the sustainable overall concept of the project. - [New7 Mannheim](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/new7-mannheim/): New7 is an innovative, mixed-use building under development in Mannheim. Through the use of timber as the primary construction material, it complements the existing structure, setting a contemporary example of inner-city regeneration and infill development. The existing building's two basement levels, ground floor and large sections of the first floor have been retained and supplemented by a modern hybrid timber construction comprising five storeys above. According to plans by Stuttgart-based architectural firm Blocher Partners, this will create new residential, retail and office space, as well as 105 micro-apartments operated by Limehome. - [Fraser Rise Aquatic and Leisure Centre](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/fraser-rise-aquatic-and-leisure-centre/): Melton City Council’s new Aquatic and Leisure Centre in Fraser Rise is a new two-storey leisure and health centre being built  for the rapidly growing north-west of Melbourne. The facility will be built on a site covering around 3.6 hectares and will bring together sports, recreation and community facilities in one location.  - [Energinet Headquarters Fredericia](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/energinet-headquarters-fredericia/): Energinet, Denmark’s state-owned grid operator, is expanding its existing site near Fredericia with a new headquarters. The building features a hybrid structure combining timber columns, steel beams and precast concrete floor slabs. - [London Museum – Poultry Market](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/london-museum-poultry-market/): The renovation of the London Museum included a significant structural upgrade to the Poultry Market, where HESS TIMBER was contracted to supply and install timber components for the replacement of the existing Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) roof. The new roof system was constructed using 300 cubic meters of Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) panels, chosen for their strength, sustainability, and speed of installation. - [Warehouse Moorabbin – Canopy at Chifley](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/warehouse-goodman/): Canopy at Chifley is one of Australia's first mass timber warehouses. Designed by Michael Carr Architect, it celebrates timber as a design element used throughout the building. The project was developed by Australian real estate company Goodman Group together with H.Troon as the main contractor. HESS TIMBER was commissioned to design and supply 1,500 m³ of glulam and CLT for this innovative industrial building. - [Casino Silt Middelkerke](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/casino-silt-middelkerke/): The new SILT Middelkerke hotel on the Belgian North Sea coast is an extraordinary and unique building in a prominent location. The free-form exoskeleton made of glulam, which is visible from afar, encompasses the entire building and blends harmoniously into the surrounding dune landscape. The shape of the building is reminiscent of a harbor bollard. - [UCB Windlesham Campus](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/ucb-windlesham-campus-2/): The existing campus of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology company UCB in WindleshamSurrey was built according to the designs of the British architecture firm Heatherwick studio fundamentally transformed. At its center, “The Brain” was built—a unique building constructed using timber. - [WoodHub Government Office Hub](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/woodhub-government-office-hub/): The new 36,500 m² WoodHub office complex in the heart of Odense, Denmark serves as a workplace for 1,600 government employees. With the choice of timber as the primary building material, the project designed by C.F. Møller Architects sets new standards in Denmark and beyond with regard to large-volume timber construction projects. For the columns alone, 1,450 m³ of glulam was used. The ceiling and wall elements consist of 5,000 m³ of cross-laminated timber. - [Sky Innovation Center](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/sky-innovation-center/): The Sky Pavilion of the media company Sky is harmoniously embedded in the park-like surroundings of the Osterley Campus. Although the new building is connected to the adjacent Sky Innovation Center, the restaurant is used for the entire campus. - [RHS Garden Bridgewater – Welcome Building](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/rhs-garden-bridgewater-welcome-building/): The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) is a renowned and world-leading horticultural organization. In November 2015, the RHS announced the creation of a new garden area on the 154-acre Worsley Hall Estate. This will make the RHS Garden Bridgewater the largest of its kind in Europe and a magnet for around 700,000 visitors a year. - [Louis Vuitton Fondation](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/louis-vuitton-foundation/): An architectural gem designed by Frank Gehry was opened in Paris in 2013. The museum was created on the initiative of Bernard Arnault, the CEO of the French company Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVHM). The museum mainly exhibits works from the 20th century. In total, the museum has eleven galleries covering 11,000 square meters, an auditorium with 400 seats and several terraces and is architecturally modeled on a ship. The building is covered by 12 individual roofs consisting of 222 single and double-curved glulam trusses. The total volume is around 800 m³. - [La Seine Musicale](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/la-seine-musicale/): Since 2016 Île Seguin has had a new landmark. On the banks of the Seine in Boulogne-Billancourt, west of Paris, a ship-like building complex has been built: La Seine Musicale. The designed by Shigeru Ban and Jean de Gastines cultural center was opened in spring 2017. - [Lord’s Cricket Ground – Warner Stand](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/lords-cricket-ground-warner-stand/): Over the course of its history, the world's most important cricket venue has been renovated, refurbished and modernized several times. This was most recently the case in 2016, when the construction of the Warner Stand gave the sports complex on St. John's Wood Road in London a new stand with a unique roof in terms of architecture and materials. - [International House Sydney](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/international-house-sydney/): In 2012, the first construction work began in the newly developed Barangaroo district in Sydney. A dynamic commercial, office, retail and residential district was created on the site of a former gasworks. The first commercial multi-storey timber office building in the country, designed by Jonathan Evans, Tsannez, was built in 2016. - [Cobot & AMR Hub](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/cobot-amr-hub/): In Odense, 3XN/GXN designed a new company headquarters for two leading manufacturers in the field of robotics - Mobile Industrial Robots (MIR) and Universal Robots (UR). The office building extends over 19,000 m² on three floors. In addition to office space, the building also offers showrooms and areas for the research and development of collaborative and mobile robot systems (cobots). - [Horizon Cruise Terminal](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/horizon-cruise-terminal/): The roof structure of the Horizon Cruise Terminal in the port of Southampton consists of 222 partially curved glulam beams, with a length of up to 37 m, a width of 160 mm and a height of 1,400 mm. - [Daramu House Sydney](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/daramu-house-sydney/): Daramu House is located next to International House Sydney, Australia's first commercial multi-storey timber office building. Daramu means tree in the language of the indigenous people of Australia. The six-storey office building has a floor space of 10,000 m². - [Leeds waste incineration plant](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/recycling-and-energy-recovery-facility-rerf/): With a height of 42 meters, the Recycling and Energy Recovery Facility in Leeds is one of the largest timber construction projects in the UK. The assembly of the glulam construction was divided into a total of eight construction phases and lasted from April 2014 to May 2015. The main building of the 3 buildings in the complex is 42 meters high, 123 meters long and 35 meters wide. The partially block-glued glulam beams have a cross-section of 400 x 760 mm. - [Boola Katitjin Murdoch University](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/boola-katitjin-murdoch-university/): Designed by Lyons Architects, the Boola Katitjin faculty building on the grounds of Murdoch University in Perth is currently the largest timber construction project in Western Australia. The four-storey building covers 16,000 m² (building floor area) and is intended to sustainably improve student life at the university through new, innovative spatial concepts. - [Anzac Station](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/anzac-station/): The Anzac Station is oneone of the busiest stations and an important hub for eight for eight lines in Melbourne's streetcar network. With a weight of around 500 tons, a height of 40 meters and a diameter of around 50 meters, this project can be seen from afar. - [Grosvenor Square Arrivals Court](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/grosvenor-square-arrivals-court/): In London's Mayfair district, which borders Hyde Park and is not far from Buckingham Palace, a very special type of wall and ceiling cladding was created between 2018 and 2021. Free-form hybrid glulam components enhance the interior of a reception hall (Arrivals Court) in a historic building on Grosvenor Street. - [D1 Tower](https://hess-timber.com/en/referenz/d1-tower/): The four free-form roofs of the 284 m high D1 Tower in Dubai, designed by innovarchi, serve as shady mediators between the air-conditioned interior spaces and the hot outside environment. The largest of the four roofs, with an area of around 600 m², is unique with 370 different, individually manufactured elements.
