As a project specialist in the field of timber engineering, HESS TIMBER offers a unique range of services for architects, planners, construction companies and project developers. HESS TIMBER, a member of the HASSLACHER group, based in Kleinheubach, Germany, has specialised in the development and execution of architecturally challenging projects and can refer to outstanding projects worldwide such as the Museum Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris, the free-formed foyer of Bunjil Place in Casey, Australia, or the wooden sphere Steinberg am See, Germany, which, with a diameter of 50 metres, is the largest project of its kind in the world. HESS TIMBER sets new standards with over 140 years of experience and a constant drive for innovation as a sought-after company for special solutions in timber engineering. Worldwide. TIMBER LIMITLESS.
In order to guarantee our customers and business partners the best possible service, the Kleinheubach site has been divided into two cooperating areas of expertise.
This was the reason for the establishment of HASSLACHER Holzbauteile GmbH & Co. KG under the management of Georg Dürregger and HESS TIMBER GmbH under the joint management of Rensteph Thompson and Markus Golinski for the project business (timber construction projects including engineering, project management and assembly).
The HASSLACHER Holzbauteile GmbH & Co. KG is a company of the HASSLACHER group and produces glued laminated timber, special glued laminated timber components as well as glued solid timber DUO/TRIO.

On the first of January 2017, Rensteph Thompson was appointed Managing Director, together with the proven management team.
On 29 September 2017, HESS TIMBER was awarded the Achievement in Engineered Timber Award for Project Lord's Cricket Ground - Warner Stand in London.
In 2014 HESS TIMBER was awarded the Innovative Product Development Award and the Achievement in Engineered Timber Award for the development of GLT HYBRID in London.
Using synergies is, put in other word, the combination of different things for their mutual benefit. This idea has been seized with the production of the glued laminated timber GLT HYBRID, a product representing the perfect synergy of two types of wood which have been combined to a premium and efficient product. Normally, the core cross section consists of a standardized and profitable type of wood, for instance of spruce. The outer beam layer is, however, built up from a higher-value wood type such as oak, chestnut or Western Red Cedar.
An architectural jewel was created in Paris in 2013 based on designs by Frank Gehry. The museum was created on the initiative of Bernard Arnault, CEO of the French company Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVHM). The museum mostly shows art of the 20th century. The Fondation Louis Vuitton Museum is covered by 12 single roofs consisting of 222 single and double curved, glued laminated glulam beams made of European larch. The total volume of glued laminated timber is around 800 m³. The museum has eleven galleries (11,000 square meters), an auditorium with 400 seats and several terraces, and is architecturally modeled on a ship.
In 2013, HESS TIMBER achieved second place in the TTJ Innovation Award for the patented and officially approved system HESS LIMITLESS.
Large span widths are no problem for glued laminated timber. However, the limits for very long glulam components are soon reached when it comes to overseas projects or narrow construction site access roads. For more than ten years now we have been realizing projects with our specifically developed, patented and approved all-in-one solution HESS LIMITLESS. Arbitrarily long glued laminated timber beams are specially pre-fabricated on our site and subdivided into short, convenient segments. The segmentation facilitates a flexible, safe and economical worldwide transport by trucks or in shipment containers. On the construction site, experienced assembly specialists subsequently glue the subsegments by using our patented HESS LIMITLESS joint system and prepare them for assembly.
In 2011, HESS TIMBER was awarded the Schweighofer Innovation Prize for the European Forestry and Wood Industries for the innovation and development of the system HESS LIMITLESS.
The editors of Holzkurier, a timber construction magazine, awarded HESS TIMBER the title of Wood Construction Outfitter of the Year 2011 for its innovative HESS LIMITLESS System.
