Cross laminated timber (CLT) is a solid multi-layer product made from solid timber that is usually used for load-bearing wall or ceiling elements. CLT can transfer loads into different directions and disposes of an increased dimensional stability due to its multi-layer structure and crosswise gluing. Innovations of the HASSLACHER Group like the cross laminated timber excellence surface open up new and unique design possibilities for architects, designers and builders with regard to the application of timber in the building and construction industry.

PHOENIX CENTRAL PARK - PERFORMANCE SPACE

Phoenix Central Park is a gallery and performance space located in Sydney, Australia. The Performance Space consists of a singular bell-shaped clearing, made by stepped and contoured free-formed cross laminated timber components. Additionally, a glued laminated timber structure was used for the supporting, inclined beams, to which the cross laminated timber components were fixed.

VITSŒ

The project at Royal Leamington Spa in the UK consists of a clever combination of BauBuche and cross laminated timber. A total of 215 m³ BauBuche XXL beams were planned and realized as a continuous beam system. The beam lengths are up to 25 meters. 631 m³ cross laminated timber "Excellent Surface" from HASSLACHER NORICA TIMBER were used throughout the project as ceiling elements as well as outer (one sided birch excellent surface) and inner wall elements (birch excellent surface on both sides).

VELODROME LONDON

The new pavilion has an aesthetically pleasing wooden load-bearing and wall structure. The pavilion consists of around 18 m³ of spruce glulam and additional spruce cross laminated timber. The narrow radii of the load-bearing glulam construction are a distinctive feature. HESS TIMBER was commissioned with the planning, production, pre-assembly at the plant as well as on-site assembly.
