HESS TIMBER is supporting the 2026 Australian Timber Design Awards (ATDA) as the category sponsor for public buildings.
Public buildings are among the most demanding applications in timber engineering. They combine high structural requirements with architectural ambition, complex geometries, and strict performance criteria. The ATDA Public Buildings category recognises projects in which timber has been successfully applied under these conditions.
At HESS TIMBER, we specialise in complex timber structures. We focus on precision and prefabrication, and we are committed to reliably executing demanding projects. In Australia, these have included The Cutaway and International House Sydney at Barangaroo, Boola Katitjin, the Fraser Rise Aquatic & Leisure Centre, and the Adelaide Aquatic Centre.
This category includes projects that involve engineered timber and require a high level of coordination, technical understanding and buildability.
The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, 21 October at the Museum of Contemporary Art (Level 6) in Sydney, starting at 6 pm.
We look forward to recognising projects that demonstrate the application of timber in technically and architecturally challenging public buildings.
