Anna Lena Assel, Project Manager at HESS TIMBER, will give a specialist lecture on the Belgian construction project Silt Middelkerke on March 26, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. entitled “Under difficult conditions – timber engineering construction on the coast”.
Free-formed wooden exoskeleton
The free-form exoskeleton in timber construction has an impressive size of around 42 m x 33 m with a height of 25 m and consists of 1314 individual glulam components. Due to the proximity to the coast, special attention had to be paid to the corrosion protection of the components used.
