A significant milestone in the redevelopment of The Cutaway beneath Sydney’s Barangaroo Reserve was reached in May, with 50% of the work completed. The underground concrete and sandstone venue is currently being transformed by the State of New South Wales into one of the city’s leading cultural and event venues. Designed by fjcstudio (formerly FJMT Studio), the event center will host exhibitions, festivals, installations and other major events and become a new cultural hub for Sydney.
The expansion, implemented by FDC Construction & Fitout, extends over three levels with event and gallery spaces, an education center for First Nations, ancillary spaces and office units.
