The Fraser Rise Aquatic and Leisure Centre in Australia is approaching the next milestone in its major project. Special glulam elements, measuring up to 32 metres in length, are en route to the construction site in Fraser Rise, which is located north-west of Melbourne.
Built for Melton City Council, the new aquatic and leisure centre will bring sports, leisure, health and community facilities together in one location. The facility is currently under construction and will form part of the public infrastructure for Melbourne’s rapidly growing north-west region.
HESS TIMBER is responsible for the project’s planning consultancy, timber construction design, and project management, as well as the production and delivery of the timber components. The scope of supply focuses on the roof structure above the indoor swimming pool areas and a striking external canopy.
A total of 375 m³ of glulam from the HASSLACHER group is being used. These large-format components are being transported from the European production site to the construction site in Australia, which requires close coordination between the planning, production, logistics, and project management teams.
